The
2007 MISS CALIFORNIA USA® and MISS CALIFORNIA
TEEN USA® pageants were held in beautiful
Marin County, California, just a short drive north
of
the Golden
Gate Bridge. This years' pageant was an historic
event, as a star-studded panel of judges chose
Miss Inland Empire USA, Meagan Tandy as MISS
CALIFORNIA USA 2007 and Miss Marin Teen
USA, Kylee
Lin as MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA
2007. This years
winners exemplified the cultural and ethnic diversity
of California, as Meagan is only the fourth African-American
woman to ever hold the title of MISS CALIFORNIA
USA, and Kylee is the first Chinese-American to
ever hold the title of MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA.
Co-hosts
Keylee Sanders and Sam Sarpong,
hosted the live event from the Marin Veterans’ Memorial
Theatre in San Rafael. Celebrity Judges for the
event included:
Veteran pageant judge and image developer Dohn
Dye; creator
of technologically advanced Nutraceutical/Cosmeceutical
line Borba, Scott Vincent Borba; Director
of Special Events for SHOWTIME TV NETWORKS,Brad
Setting; President and
CFO of Modern Luxury Media LLC, Patrick Walters;
Senior Vice President of Creative Media Marketing, Rosalind

former television news anchor and lawyer, Darrin
Lim;
co-host on ABC7’s The View from the Bay, Janelle

Franco.
Throughout
the two-hour event, the contestants competed in three
categories: swimsuit, evening gown
and interview.
During these competitions the “Top Five” finalists
were selected before the crowning. Tamiko Nash,
MISS CALIFORNIA USA 2006, and Jessica
Powell, MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA 2006, crowned their respective successors at
the conclusion of the two-hour event, before an estimated
viewing audience of over 1000 guests.
