Taylor
Kaye Atkins became MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA® 2008
in November of 2007 shortly after turning 16 years
old. She is an honors student attending as a junior
at Fillmore Senior High School this year and holds
a steady GPA of 4.5. Taylor also serves on the ASB
committee as the Commissioner of Finance and is looking
forward to another season on the girls’ high
school golf team. Taylor’s favorite subject
at school is math and has received many Honor Roll
and Academic Achievement awards since elementary
school. Over the course of 2 years, Taylor has taken
numerous college classes to enhance her education
studies. This summer she will attend Moorpark College
to take English to advance her forward in her upcoming
senior year.
Besides
keeping a major focus on her education, she has been
a dancer for 7 years which
has given her the opportunity
to learn lyrical, tap and jazz. When time permits,
Taylor loves spending time with her family and friends,
loves
the beach and bon fires in the country with her friends.
Because Taylor loves helping
and assisting people of all ages, she has had the
opportunity to volunteer
in the E.R. department at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital,
and is now currently serving as an Ambassador for a
program called “Network for a Healthy California
-- Children’s Power Play! Campaign” promoting
healthy eating and physical activity to 9 through 11
year old school students in Ventura, Santa Barbara
and San Luis Obispo counties under the direction of
Gold Coast Power Play. “Healthy students make
better learners”.
Since
becoming Miss California Teen USA, Taylor has also
been enjoying red carpet movie premier
events in Hollywood,
making appearances at local elementary schools and
reading stories to the children, and at any time
in her busy
schedule welcoming other fun venues.
Taylor
is looking forward to attending a 4 year school when
she graduates,
in hopes of gearing her education
towards the field of Marketing and Advertising. |
