The winner of MISS CALIFORNIA USA® will advance to the nationally televised competition of MISS USA® and the winner of MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA® will advance to MISS TEEN USA® competition. We are accepting applications NOW for our next competition. Hometown titles are first reserved, first issued, so when you receive your response, do not delay in reserving your title. Selections made after application review, you will be notified.

NOTE: Click on "APPLY NOW" link on the main menu (above) and follow the easy steps for this coming year of competition. There is NO fee required to apply. Once your application is received, it will be reviewed by a selection committee which usually can take up to 10 business days. For many girls this was the start of a fabulous career in beauty, fashion, acting, modeling, spokes modeling, public relations, marketing and more!

The Opportunity of a Lifetime
The WINNER will be California’s representative in the MISS TEEN USA® Competition or MISS USA® Competition who then goes on to compete in the MISS UNIVERSE® Competition as seen on FOX! The Miss Universe Organization will award the new Miss Teen USA a $10,000 scholarship to be applied to continuing education tuition or other education expenses (books, etc.) at an institution of her choice. A $5,000 cash prize will also be awarded upon the completion of her reign.
FITNESS, EVENING GOWN, INTERVIEW
You will need an evening gown, an interview appropriate outfit and either a swim suit (Miss) or an active wear outfit (Teen) along with casual clothes for rehearsals, and one little black dress for the opening number performance. Once you are a registered contestant, any and all questions regarding wardrobe appropriateness can be directed to the Wardrobe Mistress.
SCORING: 3 EQUAL COMPETITION PHASES: FITNESS, EVENING GOWN, INTERVIEW.
1/3 Fitness, 1/3 Evening Gown, 1/3 Interview
The scores from the preliminary phase are totaled, and the contestants with the highest composite scores advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finalists compete on stage in active wear/swimsuit, and evening gown and a Top 5 is selected by the same methodology. An on-stage question is posed to each finalist by the host, and the judges make their selections for Winner, 1st Runner-Up, 2nd Runner-Up, 3rd Runner-up, 4th Runner-Up.
Each contestant is evaluated on her physical fitness, stage-presence, and overall impression.

Preliminary interviews are comfortable and conversational. Contestants are scored on their communication skills, and personality.
