Each year we work to provide a fun environment in which women from around the Golden State have the opportunity to develop skills that will help them win in life by being their personal best in everything they do. The pageant encourages you to build self-confidence, individual pride, and a greater self-awareness. You will make new and lasting friendships and find that the pageant will be a rewarding and worthwhile experience.

MEET THE MISS CALIFORNIA USA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

KRISTEN BRADFORD
​
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Kristen moved to California to attend Pepperdine University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations in 2000, and Master’s degree in Public Policy in 2003. While attending college, she began her pageant career with the Miss Universe Organization. After competing, she spent several years assisting behind the scenes. Eventually she founded three of her own official preliminary pageants for the Miss California USA and Miss California Teen USA organization (Miss Malibu, Miss Santa Monica and Miss Beverly Hills). In 2011, Kristen opened Crown Diva Boutique and Pageant Academy, the first one-stop pageant shop on the West Coast.
As a preliminary director and pageant coach, she has prepared contestants from all over the country for state, national and international pageants. She worked extensively with former Miss USA titleholders Nana Meriwether and Olivia Jordan for the entirety of their pageant careers, as both women started with Kristen’s preliminary pageants in the state of California. Most recently she coached Miss Teen USA 2020 Kiilani Arruda for both her state and national wins. Kristen’s favorite part of the pageant industry is self-development, encouraging young women to grow and helping them set attainable goals on the journey to the crown and throughout life.
In addition, Kristen has worked as an event planner for a variety of celebrity studded red carpet events. She was behind the scenes at major award shows, film festivals, private birthday parties and even incorporated stars like Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Ludacris and many others at her preliminary pageants. Her pageants were featured on shows like “The Real Housewives of Orange County”, “Million Dollar Listing” and the “Chelsea Handler Show”. Youtube influencer Michelle Khare created a video called “I trained like Miss USA for 60 days” highlighting Kristen’s coaching and the Miss Malibu pageant that garnered over 4 million views.
